Yesterday, we opened our seventh pub with rooms, The George & Dragon in Marlow. 

With 200 internal covers, 50 external covers and 17 boutique bedrooms this was an ambitious project for the team. With the pub, dining room and bedrooms all extensively and sympathetically refurbished, the result is a beautiful pub which is set to once again become the beating heart of the Marlow community. 

In true Heartwood fashion, the opening day saw an animatronic dragon accompanied by Saint George himself traversing the streets of Marlow whilst invited guests enjoyed canapes, free-flowing Whispering Angel and live music together with the opportunity to explore the 17 beautifully refurbished bedrooms. Tastings from Rebellion brewery completed the experience with the pub officially being opened by Deputy Mayor of Marlow, Jennifer Simnett. 

With the opening of The George & Dragon we have grown our pubs with rooms offering to more than 200 bedrooms since our first opening, The White Horse in February last year. With three further standalone pubs already in the opening pipeline and a further pub with rooms, The Potters Heron in Chandlers Ford scheduled to open in Spring 2026, we remain on track to grow the estate to more than 400 bedrooms by 2027.
