Opening our first pub with rooms…
Yesterday afternoon was a momentous day for as a business as The White Horse, Dorking officially opened the doors to welcome guests and what a welcome they received.
As our first pub with rooms, this was a hugely significant moment for us. We were joined by members of the press and locals for an afternoon of celebrations with guests treated to a performance by Dickensian singers, a coach pulled by a pair of magnificent white horses and a reading from “Charles Dickens” himself – we really were the talk of (Dorking) town!
Following a welcome from Heartwood CEO Richard Ferrier, guests were invited to take a tour of some of the 56 beautifully designed bedrooms with Olivia Softley and Inge Watrobski, enjoy wine tastings from Denbies Wine Estate Limited, gin sampling from Silent Pool Distillers and took away a personally inscribed copy of The Pickwick Papers with calligraphy by Vivian Choi. Marketing director Joanna Richardson, Executive MBA, Sam Wood, Tom Palfreeman, Emma Martin, Viviane Lissarre Polly Dunn, Caz Taylor, Kate Richardson and Elsa Waterfield were also on hand to ensure the day ran smoothly from start to finish. A spectular way to welcome the Dorking community through their doors and thank you to everyone who has supported us in reaching this monumental milestone in the growth of the business.
